Violet Blue, Quit While You're Behind
Monday, February 6, 2012 at 5:10PM Violet Blue has responded to her "attackers" (Shawn King and John Gruber) by way of a blog post on ZDNet.
I'm not going to pick it apart - she's not worth it. The basic gist is she's angry at bloggers for calling her out on her sexist remark about the "saddest booth babe in the world", she implies that King and Gruber condone violence and death threats against her, and most of all, Violet makes the entire piece about herself.
She did all the research to find out who the woman was, she made the effort to correct herself and she still doesn't believe she's done anything wrong.
Blue uses the term "fanboy" six times throughout her piece, including the title, yet still complains about the ad hominem attacks against her.
Gruber and King disagreed. They did not send their "armies" to threaten her, nor do they (I assume) condone such actions. The fact is Blue made a mistake, took umbrage with those who called her out on it and decided to push the envelope even further.
You know why it's hard for women in tech, Violet? Because you keep setting them back 30 years.
