A Long Road Indeed

Dieter Bohn’s piece for The Verge, titled “The long road to BlackBerry 10” discusses RIMs plans for its upcoming BlackBerry OS…and it’s sad.

Too many programming languages for apps, no design guidelines, phrases like “similar to the PlayBook” and support for “many years to come” of old legacy software make for a depressing read. RIM’s mentality is akin to Santa’s elves never paying attention to what kids really want for Christmas and continuing to build wooden horses and jack-in-the-boxes.
