Coalition for the Homeless - Donate Now

On the most recent, and incidentially last episode of the Angry Mac Bastards podcast, the three hosts tackled two main subjects, only one of which garnered any response from people on the web:

  1. Leo Grand, the homeless man who learned to code, finished his app but is still homeless and jobless.
  2. They took apart a developer’s website in a mean-spirited and childish way, not unlike how they’ve torn apart bad tech writers over the last four years. Yes, they’ve been doing this for four years, but now suddenly it’s a problem.

Guess which one the Internet Outrage Machine decided to tackle?

What’s done is done. AMB has shuttered its doors and the true injustices of the world are righted. Oh, wait, they’re not. Leo’s still out of a home. This is where you come in.

I’ve donated to Coalition for the Homeless, “the nation’s oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women, and children…dedicated to the principle that affordable housing, sufficient food, and the chance to work for a living wage are fundamental rights in a civilized society.”

Coalition for the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) based in New York City - Leo Grand’s stomping grounds - and is a fantastic cause. I encourage anyone reading this to donate and help Leo and his fellow homeless New Yorkers this winter.
